The club
WRHA e.V. was founded in 2023 and is based in northern Brandenburg – at the Little King Ranch in Ribbeck near Gransee, surrounded by green meadows and wide forests.
With more than 50 members – young and old – we promote Western riding as a grassroots sport. We offer courses, workshops and tournaments, for beginners and experienced competitors alike.
Beyond the sport, club life comes first: getting together, celebrations after the tournament or a volleyball event – with us, sport is simply more fun.
Since 2026 we have joined forces with the Interessengemeinschaft Ranch Horse Club Germany (RHCG): two communities, one passion – together we are the WRHA. The silhouette of rider, horse and cow above the letters WRHA comes from this tradition and is now our shared mark; the round emblem remains the seal of the club.
History & Tradition
Western riding grew out of the work of the cowboys in the Wild West. When herding cattle, the cowboys had to spend hours in the saddle every day – they needed horses that responded to the smallest leg aids and shifts of weight, largely without rein aids. The horses were meant to „think along".
Today Western riding is enjoying growing popularity. The modern Western horse moves calmly and in balance – natural in its posture, obedient in communication, a true partner to its rider.
